The European Commission in conjunction with industry partners has been working on the issue of improving the security of parking facilities for Europe´s road transport sector. Due to the increasing threat of theft and violence, industry leaders have been pushing for improvements in all round safety for drivers on the continent. At a conference earlier in the year, the European Transport Commissioner launched the truck inform website, a portal dedicated to listing the over 2500 truck parks throughout Europe. This website www.truckinform.eu is designed to provide a unified platform for drivers and transport professionals to help plan safer and more efficient journies as well as providing the entire sector with a reference point for secure parking in Europe. We welcome this long overdue platform and will do everything possible to highlight the benefits of the site to our customers.
